ENCUENTRO DE ORGANIZACIONES SOCIALES POR LA SUSTENTABILIDAD DE LA REGION DEL BIOBIO EN NONGUEN - English

El pasado viernes la Ecoescuela asistió al segundo evento de las organizaciones sociales para la sustentabilidad en el valle Nonguén. Establecimos nuestro stand en una pequeña escuela abandonada en el valle de la vida, un lugar hermoso, cargado de energía. En una hermosa mañana de viernes bajo un sol cálido de primavera depositamos nuestros libros en el suelo, rodeados de nuestras preciadas hierbas y plantas de tomate a la sombra y  nos pusimos cómodos para sentarnos y hablar de permacultura con las personas interesadas.

Acacias are evergreen, nitrogen-fixing plants ranging in form from ground covers to tall trees. There are more than 1200 species worldwide.

SELECION DE PLANTAS TEMPLADO

Here we look at the Temperate zones of Chile. Have a look at this map to see where the global Temperate areas are. The southern temperate zone extends from the Tropic of Capricorn (just north of Antofogasta)  to the Antarctic Circle (at approximately 66.5 degrees south latitude) wee south of Chile.

These are the relatively cold and humid climates. They differ from drylands – where annual precipitation exceeds evaporation and differ from the tropics – with the presence of frosts. Temperate includes Mediterranean and polewards to the boreal forests.

A large part of central Chile from the Biobio River to north of Santiago is described as a Mediterranean Climate, or more precisely Chilean Matorral. We can use these unique conditions to mimic plant and animal strategies to design and create living landscapes that yield an abundance of goodness.
